Let It Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

This is the Snow storm we woke up to Thursday morning. We cleared off the truck and then went and purchased some shovels at Ace hardware. Then we started shoveling!!! No one else was even leaving there houses. It was kind of sad. Ryan and I shoveled ourselves out and then all of our neighbors in our complex. We meet lots of our neighbor it was fun. They were all happy we shoveled them out and they think we are a little crazy. Crazy Utahans that shovel snow!

We learned that people here do really do much in snow. Plus I think that Spokane only has 4 snow plows. At least that all I have seen since we moved here. It pretty eye opening they really don't that good of a job plowing. The roads are pretty bad. No one really shovels or plows that well so all of the road and parking lots are icy with huge ruts in them.

These pictures were taken Thursday morning by that night we had a total of 25 in. Yea!!

That night Ryan and I went sledding at Manito park with are Neighbors Jason and Rachel. It was fun and a little wet!

We ended up going off the path and into some powder and I got o face full of snow. I paid Ryan back later by getting him white washed after the sled knocked us off.

This Ryan freezing his bum of at Snow shoe peak with his scouts. Ryan loved the camping trip, however I can't say that much about his 12 year old scouts! They were cold and miserable like I would be!!! Ryan enjoyed the time there are got some great pics too!

This is a sad picture of Ryan and his ram charger. It officially died and was laid to rest. Ryan had a hard time and this was there final photo together. He has created a face book page commemorating the Ram's life. He would feel special if you all joined. Love ya all!!

Climb On

After setting the chains on this climb I decided to take the short way down by repelling. What I you cann't see is that on this particular rock face has a big over hand half way down that makes repelling all that more fun!




Ryan has really be into climbing since we moved to Spokane, probably cuz, it cheap!

Seriously as of late we have not done much. I have been crazy busy with two internship presentations and research papers to go along with the presentations and Ryan has been busy with work. On Saturdays we have been going climbing with fellow USU grads Jordan and Paige Frakes. This week I finally got my presentations done so hopefully we can get some more fun pic's on the the blog that aren't climbing.

High Adventure for our Stake this year took place at Stone Hill, Montana (located 50 miles North of Libby, MT at the banks of lake Koocanusa). My Elder's Quorum President, Josh Strom (the same guy that helped move us in) needed another climbing guide to insure that we didn't have any scouts falling off the mtn, and into the lake..this one========>
So I figured one cannot beat a free climbing trip, especially when people cook your meals and drive you around!







Unfortunately we arrived late.... who would have thought that a bunch of troop leaders and 14-16 year olds could be so unorganized? It's probably because they left their wives and mothers behind, which is a philosophy that I am quickly placing stock in.







I'm sure you can imagine what 40 lawless prepubescent scouts look and sound like... running out in the middle of the road, talking about certain body parts, throwing rocks from the road, and not listening to the climbing guides when scaling a route. From all of that, what you're imagining is pretty much all that happened. I'm just happy we didn't have any accidents!








We camped about 4 miles away that night, back in the woods. The next day we woke up at 5:30 am and drove all the way down to Superior, MT to the rafting company that would take us down the Clark Fork River. After arriving an hour late, (no surprises there) we suited up and packed into buses, and drove 13 miles up river. Upon arrival, we broke up into groups of 7 and loaded our rafts. Our guide Jamie gave us the protocol, and then pointed out water guns that had been placed in each boat for the slow moving times. Little did Jamie know that rafts, guns, and testosterone equals epic pirate-like battles of scouts and leaders leaping from one boat to another tossing the small and weak into the river. After 5 or 6 miles of river, we docked our raft on a beach and ate lunch that the guides provided. Baked potatoes, romaine lettuce, chicken, cheese, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, trail mix, and watermelon...basically a feast to feed all the little beasts haha. After more bodies falling into the water, we came to our pull out point, jumped on the buses and came back to our cars. After that the scouts went back to base camp, and Josh and I drove home that evening. Overall, it was a blast and Jana is upset because she wasn't able to go, but I had fun!

Yeah! I finally have a blog thanks to Jocelyn wanting to have more friends on her blog! Ryan and I are finally getting settled in and enjoying Spokan. Ryan loves his job and I am enjoying my internship. Even though it has been crazy we have taken some time out to see some of the sights.







This is us at Grand Coolee Dam. Taking this small trips helps us pass some of the time that we are used to spending with our family back in Logan.


















We are starting to enjoy Spokan, but still miss our family back in Logan. We miss all of them, but the ones we miss most are...

Jaden and Mase!!! Mike was just used as a prop, we really don't miss him most!
